What is a minimum order quantity (MOQ), and how do you plan for it?

Why factories set a minimum, how ours works, and how to plan a first order without buying more than you need.

A minimum order quantity, or MOQ, is the smallest number of pieces a factory will make in one order. Here is what it means for you.

Why factories set a minimum

Setting up a garment takes time: cutting, printing, machine set-up and checking. That work is much the same for 5 pieces or 500, so a very small order is hard to price fairly. A minimum keeps the price sensible for both sides.

How our minimum works

Our minimum is 25 pieces per style and colour. That means 25 of one style in one colour. Two colours of the same style count as two separate quantities.

How to plan your first order

  • Pick one or two styles, not ten
  • Choose the colours you are most sure about
  • Spread the sizes across the range, with more in the middle sizes
  • Reorder what sells

Can you order fewer?

If you need fewer than the minimum, send us the details anyway. Tell us what you want and we will say what is possible.

Prices change with quantity

Larger orders usually bring the price per piece down. When you ask for a quote, tell us the range you are considering, for example 25, 100 and 250, and compare the numbers side by side.
