Cutting
Fabric is cut to the pattern with as little waste as possible, by machine for big orders and by hand for samples.

What it is
Cutting sets the quality of everything that follows. If panels are cut off-size, the garment will never fit properly.
For large orders we plan the layout on a computer so more pieces come out of each roll of fabric, which helps keep your price down. For samples and small runs, our cutters work by hand.
Methods
- Computer-planned cutting for large orders
- Hand cutting for samples and short runs
- Panels sorted and bundled by size
Best for
- Large team orders
- Short runs of new designs
- Samples
Common questions
Does cutting affect the price?
It can. Planning the layout well gets more pieces from each roll of fabric, which helps keep the price down on larger orders.
Do you cut by hand or by machine?
Both. Large orders are planned on a computer. Samples and short runs are cut by hand.
Are the pieces sorted by size?
Yes. Cut panels are bundled and sorted by size before sewing.
